Advising Circles

Remote Advising Circles are small groups of 6-8 advising and student services staff who gather via Zoom for a single session of collaborative brainstorming and discussion. In a Circle, you will be invited to share your ideas, talk about what has worked and what hasn't, discuss what additional tools or knowledge you are seeking, and more. We hope the Circles are a great opportunity to bounce ideas around and learn from each other. Past topics have included:

  • Doing less with less, when students need us more than ever
  • Virtual advising delivery methods, systems, and processes
  • Graduate student advising and community building
  • Building community and sense of belonging with students
  • Peer advising, counseling, mentoring, and ambassador programs
  • Remote tutoring programs
  • Self-care, self-preservation, and wellness

Remote Advising Circles Will Return in Fall 2022

Check back soon for opportunities to share best practices with a small group of colleagues on a wide variety of topics.
