Career Readiness: A Framework to Support Students' Career Launch

Monday, October 17, 2022 | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

In 2015, Employers and career services professionals came together under the Career Readiness Initiative - a shared understanding of what is needed to launch and develop a successful career, a common vocabulary by which to discuss needs and expectations, and a basic set of competencies upon which a successful career is launched. Career Readiness provides us with a framework for addressing career-related goals and outcomes, regardless of what a student is studying. This introductory presentation will expose you to the current competencies, review definitions of each, and explore behaviors and activities we can encourage students to build and get involved in, in order to strengthen their marketability in the workplace.

Presenter: Santina Pitcher, Career Center
