Apply for the 2024 Equity-Oriented Advising & Coaching Program!

You are invited to apply for this program designed for UC Berkeley Advising and Student Services Staff from throughout campus. Staff in all of our campus divisions including Student Affairs, Equity and Inclusion, Undergraduate Education, Graduate Division, Berkeley International Office, the academic schools and colleges, University Extension, and beyond are eligible to apply. 

Student services staff who work with all of our student populations, including pre-collegiate, undergraduate, graduate/professional students, and/or visiting students, are encouraged to apply. If space allows, additional staff who are interested in working in student services will also be considered. Participants must have supervisor approval, and are expected to participate in all sessions, including any break-out discussions. Every participant who fulfills all program requirements will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by campus leadership.

Application Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Please note that we are not able to accept applications past this application deadline.

  • Cohort Community Building Opportunities

    • February 21, 2024, 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., in-person (lunch provided)

    • February 29, 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.  on Zoom

  • Key Dates

    • Training Sessions: March 7, 8, 18 & 19, 2024 (Note: These training sessions may be held via Zoom or in person, based on participant preference and availability)

    • Coaching Circles (Zoom):

The application includes these reflection questions.  A brief paragraph is sufficient for each response:

  • How would participating in this program support your personal and professional growth?

  • What is a significant challenge that you are experiencing in your work? How can the program support you in addressing this challenge?

  • By participating in the program, what is the type of impact that you hope to achieve? (for example: increasing students’ sense of belonging, addressing equity barriers, etc.)
