Math 1, Foundations of Lower-Division Mathematics, is a compact seven-week in-person course that is offered twice consecutively during the Fall semester. With a focus on fundamental concepts, this two-unit course equips students with a strong base to succeed in UC Berkeley's lower-division Math curriculum. Math 1 is designed to be taken in parallel to introductory calculus classes and provides the necessary groundwork for students to thrive in their mathematical studies.
