The Berkeley Discovery Initiative is building a framework for the future of undergraduate education at UC Berkeley that is rooted in equity of student experience and promotes student agency, project-based learning, and the importance of community building and mentorship. Advisers and student services staff across all campus divisions are uniquely positioned to foster these values and learning strategies. This event will begin with an overview of the initiative, followed by advising leaders from a variety of campus units discussing how they approach supporting their students with planning for and carrying out discovery projects.
At the event we will discuss the formation of a new “Undergraduate Discovery Advising & Student Services Staff Council” that will support the Discovery Hub and broader initiative in developing best practices for advising students for discovery.
