This interactive session/workshop provides an overview of stereotype threat and how it impacts student engagement and success. We will introduce strategies, such as wise criticism, that can mitigate stereotype threat in your interactions and promote a greater sense of belonging. We will provide you with opportunities to apply these strategies through small breakout sessions and whole group dialogues.
This workshop is based on a module from Berkeley's new Equity-Oriented Advising and Coaching model.
