AS+T Summer Self-Preservation Series: Navigating Your Inner Landscape

Tuesday, June 25, 2024 | 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. | RSVP to Attend

Self-preservation refers to a set of behaviors adopted to protect ourselves and maintain personal wellbeing, stemming from an understanding that protecting our physical, emotional, and psychological health is a prerequisite for doing our best work for our students and one another. As staff providing direct support to students with a wide range of lived experiences, it is especially important to curate an approach to self-preservation that fits into our busy lives so that we can fill our own cups before pouring ourselves out for others. This workshop is #3 of a five-part experiential workshop series focused on exploring a variety of tools, practices, and resources that support our wellbeing at and beyond work.

"To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom." - Socrates, probably

Exploring the topography of our inner landscapes can be a daunting task, but one that results in outsized benefits. From identifying negative self-talk to clarifying our personal and professional goals, practices that help us navigate and understand our internal world provide access to our values, purpose, and intuitive guidance. This session will introduce (or perhaps re-introduce) several experiential practices designed to support you in unearthing your inner wisdom and connecting deeply with yourself.

Suggested materials: A journal and writing implement.
