What does your program, unit, or division do on campus?

I work in the College of Chemistry where we provide holistic advising and support in order to ensure that students are able to achieve their academic + personal goals and feel empowered to take control of their academic journey.

Why Berkeley?

During my undergraduate career at UCSC I was a peer adviser and discovered my passion for helping students. I went on to become a staff adviser at UCSC and my personal connection to the UC system brought me to Berkeley.

Over your career, what are some of the things that have helped you move to the next level and to new opportunities?

Professional networking and making connections with campus partners were key in helping me move to my next career opportunities. Professional Development has also been important for me and has allowed me to begin to dig deeper into my purpose.

What is the best advice a mentor has given you in work, life, or beyond?

Do you and always own your success (Big or Small)!

What motivates you to do your best work?

Students! They have inspired me to create student centered institutional support in the College of Chemistry supporting academic and professional growth. I also love the student “aha” moments!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

Not too sure about weird – but I worked at Pizza Hut in L.A. during High School. Professional pizza maker and top notch customer service skills = ME :-)!!

What is an interesting or little-known fact about you?

I used to write poetry and I still dabble in it a little.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Working with the incoming class this Summer and vaycay!!!
