Community, Inclusion, Diversity, Connectivity, Strategy

Why Berkeley?

Networking and making connections has helped me tremendously throughout my career. Having a large network can expose you to new opportunities that you were not aware of, and it can also connect you to the people who managing those opportunities.

Over your career, what are some of the things that have helped you move to the next level and to new opportunities?

I’ve been lucky enough to have some really great mentors along the way who have pushed me to learn new things that helped me get to the next level in my career. I’ve also recently started participating in more campus committees so I can see what’s going on in other parts of the division outside my unit, and it’s really helped me to expand my network.

What is the best advice a mentor has given you in work, life, or beyond?

“We are all better than our worst moment.” - Rich Lyons

What motivates you to do your best work?

Having a positive impact on the careers and lives of others and seeing them realize their potential (even if it is just for small goal or task they are working on) motivates me and keeps me going.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?

I was once a door to door salesman for debt collection services.

What is an interesting or little-known fact about you?

I’ve been to more countries than I have been to states.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

My office of 5 has three new team members. I am looking forward to working with my new team, accomplishing our goals, and making the Berkeley Haas School of Business more diverse, more equitable, more inclusive for everyone in our community.
