Why Berkeley?
I came to Berkeley from the University of Washington. I enjoy working at large public institutions known for excellence.
Over your career, what are some of the things that have helped you move to the next level and to new opportunities?
Volunteerism, Curiosity, Actively building relationships widely.
What is the best advice a mentor has given you in work, life, or beyond?
Take advantage of free professional development opportunities!
What motivates you to do your best work?
Seeing results, positive reinforcement, autonomy.
What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Delivering frozen samples of organ tissue to various labs at a children’s hospital. You have to be fast!
What is an interesting or little-known fact about you?
I like to SCUBA dive and DJ, but not at the same time.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Traveling for work! Been a long time since I’ve done that!
